What is the Secret Column?

Updated: Sep 22

The secret column - it is on the "Where Have I Been" page next to the DATE column. That little blank one.

I put this in after talking to one of my product design discussion group members. A group of my wonderful friends who took the time to comment on my developing design for the flight log.

Three Ways to use the Secret Column

The first way to use this column is to reference your flights to the "My Notes" page to provide you with notes for each journey. This is how we have been using it - see the photos below.

The second suggestion, is to use this column to reference a world map - you may have one on your wall. Same principle, use 1,2,3... or a,b,c... or colours, whatever works for you. See the photos below (my example uses the map in the Flight Log).

The third suggestion, is to record your responsible travel activities in the notes section. These may include how you used your own refillable water bottle, did a mini beach clean while on holiday, donated to a tree planting business, etc. There are more and more ways for thinking about your own "offsetting" for your travel journeys.More and more I have been thinking about limiting, as much as any individual can, compared to the organisations, the impact of my families travel journeys. We have, for some time now, been bringing our own water bottles and recently we participated in a mini beach cleanup, when in Gozo, with the guides on our kayaking tour. These are small steps but small steps add up.

You may come up with other ways to use it or just leave it blank until inspiration strikes.I would love to hear any suggestions you have, please leave a comment here!
